Files are confidential

The files and information you submit are strictly confidential. They will under no circumstances be published on this website, posted on social media, sold, traded, or shared with any third party — with one single exception: the relevant government and law-enforcement organisations (FIOD, Openbaar Ministerie, national police services, financial regulators and their international counterparts), and only where strictly necessary for the investigation and prosecution of this case.

Publication on the website only ever happens if you have explicitly granted that permission above, and only after verification. Without your consent, your material stays inside the investigation file.

Frequently asked questions — What happens to my evidence?

We receive new submissions every day. Below are the questions we are asked most often. If your question is not listed, contact the investigation team directly via our secure contact form or via the Instagram channel @xposefadikhalil .

When will my evidence be shown on the website?+
Every submission first goes through a verification process: authenticity check, cross-referencing against existing case files, and a legal review to confirm publication will not harm ongoing proceedings. This takes an average of 2 to 6 weeks depending on complexity. Material that passes review appears on the News page or inside a specific dossier (for example Medacoin or Marbella). You will be notified in advance if your contribution is going to be published.
Why is my submitted evidence (still) not on the website?+
There are usually three reasons. (1) It is still in verification — video and document evidence in particular requires thorough authentication. (2) It is being deliberately held back for the criminal case or the collective civil proceeding: publishing it could damage its evidentiary value or compromise witness safety. (3) The material confirms something already established from other sources, and is added to the internal file without separate publication. In all three cases your submission remains a full part of the investigation.
Will my identity stay anonymous?+
Yes, by default. Your name, email address and any metadata are only shared inside the investigation team and never disclosed publicly or to third parties without your explicit written permission. If you later wish to come forward as a witness in the legal proceedings, you can indicate that yourself — otherwise your role stays fully anonymous.
What kind of evidence is most valuable?+
Original files (photos, videos, screenshots, audio, PDFs) with intact metadata, bank statements or transaction records, WhatsApp or email conversations, contracts or agreements, and the names of witnesses willing to give a statement. The more concrete the evidence (date, location, amount, parties involved), the stronger its weight in the legal bundle.
Will I be notified after I submit?+
Yes. You receive a reference number on screen immediately after submission. Within 5 working days the investigation team starts substantive review of your report. For relevant updates — verification completed, publication planned, or if we have follow-up questions — we contact you by email at the address you provided.
Will my evidence be shared with police, FIOD or lawyers?+
Only after consultation and with your consent. Criminally relevant evidence is — if you agree — shared with the coordinating lawyers of the collective case and, where appropriate, with the FIOD, the Dutch Public Prosecution Service (Openbaar Ministerie) or foreign law-enforcement agencies. Without your permission the material does not leave the investigation team.
Can I add to or withdraw my submission later?+
Yes. Send a short message via the contact form with your reference number and the addition or withdrawal request. You can withdraw your submission at any time up to the moment of publication or formal legal filing.
My evidence is too large to upload — what now?+
The upload accepts files up to 20 MB each. Do you have larger video files, complete chat exports or multiple folders at once? Mention this in the text field of your submission; we will then send you a secure upload link that lets you deliver files up to several gigabytes.
